OUR APPROACH

Mediation is suitable for separation, divorce, arranging spending time arrangements for children, employment grievances, business disputes and any other type of miscommunication/dispute.

Mediation is a process where a neutral third individual called a mediator assists disputing participants to resolve misunderstandings. A highly trained mediator uses a range of techniques to reduce conflict and explore ways forward. The first important  step in any mediation is to open up positive communication between all conflicting participants .  We are extremely successful at exploring all options and to navigate through the red mist of  conflict towards a clear solution that can work for all involved.

Mediation is a mixture of separate and joint sessions held online via video software (Zoom ) or upon request can be arranged to be conducted in the office in Leigh On Sea.

Mediation is paid in advance of each session, and participants are made aware of the number of mediation meetings that maybe required to resolve the dispute.

Each mediation meeting is normally 1.5 - 2 hours in duration.

The aim of  family mediation is to reduce conflict and improve communication between all involved without involving the courts.

Family Mediation entails both parties attending a separate consultation meeting with the mediator. The consultation meeting is called a  MIAM - Mediation Information Assessment Meeting. This meeting is 45 minutes in duration.

Attending a mediation, information and assessment meeting (MIAM) is required before family mediation can commence and  before any court applications can be filed to the Family Court.
